Well it’s been an interesting start to 2017, what, we’re 9 days into the new year and things have…well, changed already!
Last week I walked into work after the Christmas break ready for the start of 2017 but my mind had pretty much already made it’s decision. I tried to fight it, to wrestle with it, to reason with it, to convince myself I need to carry on working. I thought to myself just make it through another month, then I’m free and I can leave England again. However since in my head I was already 90% gone, my mind just needed that final push – And that final push came on my first day back on the 3rd of Jan. My boss wanted me to sign a new contract, one with a very long notice period; it set the alarm off in my my head, the sirens blasted out loud ‘abort’, abort’, ‘abort’…
New year, new start:
So after a brief chat with my boss about my plans this year, my desire and need to leave England again – Let’s just say it’s not what he wanted to hear so we parted ways – Another job I’ve quit in favor of leaving England. So guys and girls after months of complaining about being home I will shorty be hopping over the channel into Europe to start yet another adventure and who knows where it’s going to take me. As of this moment I have no concrete plans, all I know is my favored destination will be Spain; possibly Barcelona or Valencia and there after you guess is as good as mine.
So the fun times are about to begin again, time to dust off the old backpack and see what awaits me this time around. 2017 is going to be an exciting year, I can already feel it’s going to be a better one than last. Firstly because this time last year I was desperate to come home, and this year I’m desperate to get out. Secondly, not only have I got the buzz and excitement of traveling and living in a new country back, I’m excited about being able to write more this year.
Growing the blog:
It’s crazy, and I know I’ve mentioned this before but there isn’t a single sole that knows me that would have ever thought I’d start writing in any capacity. Sure most people know I love to talk, and I can talk and tell stories for days (I’ve been known to chew peoples ears off) but to actually have the discipline to sit down, to think, to construct writing material; it blows my mind that I do this now and love doing this. I look forward to what I’m going to write next.
This is why 2017 is going to be a good year, 2016 was a very depressing year in so many ways, losing that love for traveling, coming home, personal issues blah blah blah (we’ve heard it all before in my previous posts) – But we all need a come down and have a dose of reality before we can go up again. 2017 has bought some excitement back to me. I’m looking forward to my adventures around Europe, at some point (and I say this every year) I’d like to get back to Australia for a holiday to see friends. I’m looking forward more so to see how this blog develops and what it will grow into, which brings me onto the other big change…
A new Website – Forever roaming the world:
This could be bon-voyage and my final post on this page, yes after 4 months I need to take the plunge and move to my own sight. No more piggy backing on WordPress’s free sight, although I am very comfortable here I need to have my own sight now ( I feel like I’m moving from primary school to high school) This move though is because of all of you who read and share my blog, so thank you all very much for taking an interest in my writing.
Don’t get me wrong, I haven’t gone viral, I’ve not taken the blogging world by storm, I’m not an over night blogging sensation – I am still just a spec of sand in the blogging world, I am hugely still a novice writer but I’m doing far better than I ever expected, you guys have read and liked far more than I ever thought you would. SO, a huge thank you to all of you whether you’re friends, family or somebody who came across my posts and though ‘hmm this guys a bit weird but I like reading his posts’
I am thinking of moving to Bluehost which is a WordPress supporting sight (if anybody uses Bluehost please let me know what you think of it) I think I can migrate my previous posts over to that site along with you guys that have subscribed and follow me (correct me if I’m wrong)
Well that’s how my 2017 has started, how has yours began?
