PROVIDE GROUND LEVEL INSIGHTS, RESOURCES, TIPS, ADVICE, FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE, TO HELP PREPARE YOU AND LET YOU GAIN VALUABLE UNDERSTANDING INTO WHAT LONG TERM SOLO AND BUDGET TRAVEL IS REALLY LIKE – THE HIGHS AND THE LOWS.
I’VE BEEN THERE, GOT THE T-SHIRT AND KNOW HOW IT FEELS. I’VE BEEN LIVING THIS LIFE SINCE 2010 AND WILL ALSO SHARE UNFILTERED TRAVEL STORIES AND EXPERIENCES WITH YOU
LONG TERM SOLO AND BUDGET TRAVEL (YEARS NOT MONTHS) CAN BE LIFE CHANGING, PROVIDE EXPERIENCES AND MOMENTS YOU CAN’T IMAGINE BUT THERE IS A REALITY TO IT TOO. IT’S NOT ALWAYS GOING TO BE SMOOTH. FAR TOO MANY TIMES, THE WRONG INFORMATION IS PROVIDED BECAUSE MOST IS FOR SHORT TERM TRIPS. THINGS GET FLUFFED UP, SHOWN TO BE OVER- GLAMOROUS, AND IT CAN MAKE THOSE LOOKING TO TRAVEL LONG TERM FEEL UNDERPREPARED.
FOREVER ROAMING THE WORLD VEERS AWAY FROM THE NORM, AWAY FROM THE BULLSHIT, FLUFFY AND PRETTY EVERYTHING WILL ALWAYS BE PERFECT POSTS – CAN YOU HANDLE THE TRUTH?
Hand in hand with the highs and incredible moments come the lows and hardships. Over the years I’ve come across first time solo travelers who set out on long-term journeys but are completely oblivious to what they’re getting themselves into. In most cases It’s not their fault, they were just shown the shiny glamorous side of travel, but nothing under the veil. Forever Roaming the World will show you both sides; highs, and lows to help you be prepared for your future journey.
Originally launched in 2017 as a personal blog, but relaunched in 2020 with a much more defined goal and that is to help you take the first steps into long term travel, to help prepare you for the unknown and to share stories to show nobody is perfect.
While taking a hiatus from traveling in 2017, (I was burnt out after 6 and a half years of constant traveling) just a few months into it, too many things were swimming around my mind. I decided to start a personal blog on how I felt being at home after traveling for so long. It turned out people enjoyed the honesty of my posts. It made me curious to read others and it dawned on me while there was infinite amount of information for short term travel, guides, and top 10 to see/do posts there was not much about long term travel. Once I started traveling again the website was left to gather dust.
In 2020 Forever Roaming the World was relaunched, although a lot of help and aid posts had been written before, they became priority. This websites goal is help first time traveling gain an insight and help prepare you so you are not left overwhelmed, or under prepared for a long term (possibly indefinite) trip.
Since It’s inception Forever Roaming the World has won numerous blogging awards, It’s most recent nomination is from the British travel awards as best newcomer.
Follow British backpacker Amit’s humorous journey into nomad life. From his early calamitous struggles with solo travel, the odd brush with death, to ghetto snobbing (his words), it’s been a ‘take the rough with the smooth’ type of ride.
